Serenade for Strings in C-Major, Op.48 composed by Peter Iljitsch Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) in 1880 was in homage to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This simple and emotional piece is one of his representative works. Listening the first seven bars is enough to be enchanted by the music.
It consists of four movements,
I. Pezzo in forma di sonatina, Andante non troppo-Allegro moderato, II. Valse, Moderato Tempo di valse,
III. Elegie, Larghetto elegiaco,
IV. Finale (Russian Theme), Andante, Allegro con spirito.
