‘Lascia ch’io pianga’ is a very famous, beautiful, and emotional aria in Act II / Scene IV of Opera ‘Rinaldo’ HWV 7 composed by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’ means ‘Let me weep’. This aria is song by Almirena when she is in bondage by a conjuring. The lyrics is as follows.

Lascia ch’io pianga mia cruda sorte,
e che sospiri la liberta.
Il duolo infranga queste ritorte
de’ mei martiri sol per pieta.
