Menuet from L’Arlesienne, Suite No.2

4 min.

composed by Bizet

Georges Bizet (1838-1875) himself arranged his opera, “L’Arlesienne”, into L’Arlesienne Suite No. 1. L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2 published in 1879 was by his friend Ernest Guiraud (1837-1892). The most famous movement, III Menuet, was not from “L’Arlesienne” but “La jolie fille de Perth” (“The Fair Maid of Perth”) Act III No.17 Duet.

The following sound sources in slow tempos are for a beginner flute player.  He used them for keeping tempo in practices.  They worked more than a metronome for imporving his performance.
